Martinez goes deep twice to lead Tigers past Twins

   MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Victor Martinez hit two home runs and the Detroit Tigers beat the Minnesota Twins 6-3 on Friday night.    Anibal Sanchez (2-0) gave up three runs and six hits with five strikeouts and three walks in 5 2/3 innings for the Tigers.

Hoyt Park hosts International softball tournament

Hoyt Park in Saginaw will be busy this weekend as the International Softball Congress hosts a developmental tournament for boys. Fast pitch softball for men has declined in recent years in the country.   Team USA men finished 6th at the recent world tourney. Local organizers would like to recruit and reintroduce the game to area youngsters with this tournament for kids 16 and under.
