FLINT, Mich. -- Late Friday afternoon, Kamisha Fluker, the woman police have accused of robbing at least five businesses in the Flint area, went before a judge.

Multiple surveillance cameras have shown Fluker forcing workers to the floor at gunpoint.

An extra twist to this story is the revelation that Fluker is pregnant and those close to her said she is the cousin of American Idol star LaKisha Jones.

Fluker was arraigned Friday on armed robbery and gun charges after she was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

Police credit tips from TV5 viewers as having contributed to her arrest.

She is expected back in court from a pretrial hearing later this month.

A national security firm estimates that a commercial robbery is committed every four minutes – that’s more than 100,000 robberies a year.

In 2006, about 10,500 women were arrested for thefts – which translate to about 1 in 8 robberies nationwide.
