An East Tawas man is being held in the Bay County Jail awaiting arraignment after being extradited from Hawaii for crimes he allegedly committed five years ago.

The 53-year-old suspect is facing 15 felony counts plus one federal felony charge for check fraud dating back to November 2003.

Investigators said the man was arrested at his job in Hawaii on Sept. 8.

Police did not release how much money was involved in the man’s "no-account check scheme" that crossed at least six Michigan counties.
