An investigation is still ongoing after at least two people were hospitalized following a fight at a frat house near Central Michigan University.

Mount Pleasant Police said many of the people were intoxicated when a brawl broke out at the Delta Chi house early Sunday morning.

The problem investigators are encountering is exactly who saw what. According to published reports, police in Mount Pleasant are looking for people who where sober enough to tell them what happened.

Inspector Tom Forsberg is quoted as saying that because many of the people involved in the frat house fracas were intoxicated, only minimal details could be obtained at the time of the incident.

Fraternity members said a few uninvited guests were asked to leave the party but later returned with a dozen men who attacked frat members and party guests.

“They weren’t taking no as a answer,” said fraternity member Jordan Giroux. “They tried shoving their way through to the house and started taking swings at our brothers.”

At least two CMU students were treated and released from the hospital following a fight in front of the frat house.

Some of the witnesses told investigators they believe an unknown number of CMU football players and members of the wrestling team were involved.

Other witnesses said nothing at all about any CMU athlete involvement. Mt. Pleasant police officers on foot patrol noticed the fight around 2 a.m. Sunday.

The officers broke up the fight and attempted to detain witnesses for interviews.

CMU’s athletic department has declined comment until police wrap up their probe.

Police said they will spend the next few days interviewing those people identified as witnesses or fight victims.

At present, no one is in custody in connection with the fight and anyone with information is asked to contact Mount Pleasant Police.
