After an elderly Saginaw Township man was found killed and dumped in a field, a local businessman is hoping a reward will help find his killer.

Police said 88-year-old Roy Lafray was found slain last week and now leads in the case have dried up.

An insurance agent has donated $5,000 in the hopes of reigniting the case.

Rick Savage owns Preferred Insurance in Kochville Township. Lafray was a good friend and client of Savage.

The reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Lafray’s death.

Police said Lafray was killed in his garage June 25 and his body dumped a few miles away in a field.

Investigators are looking for a man who apparently was with Lafray right before he was killed.

Some neighbors have commented that they are unnerved because police have not yet caught the perpetrator and hope the reward offer helps lead to an arrest.

Savage hopes other businesses will pitch in with reward money to help get the killer off the streets.

Anyone with information can contact Saginaw Township police at 989-793-2310.
