BAY COUNTY, Mich. -- A Bay County judge decided not to make a ruling on Monday’s bond request served by Donna Yost’s attorney, Edward Czuprynski.Judge William Caprathe said he needed time to examine the case for Yost, who has been serving a life sentence for murdering her 7-year-old daughter Monique in 1999.Two years ago a jury found Yost guilty of killing Monique with an overdose of anti-depressants, however last month the state appeals court ordered a new trial for Yost.It said the judge erred at her trial by allowing certain evidence and barring other evidence during the proceeding.
In court Monday, Yost told Caprathe her daughter is getting married and she’d like to be able to walk her down the aisle in the upcoming wedding. She also continued to maintain her innocence."I didn't do it," Yost said. "Please let me out."Prosecutors plan on retrying Yost for the 1999 murder.
