Emergency crews have freed a man trapped under auto parts in Saginaw at Alfe Heat Treating.

The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. at 1300 Leon Scott Road Wednesday.

Two boxes of very heavy auto parts on a pallet shifted off a conveyer belt, which pinned the worker to the floor of the shop.

Authorities said the man was pinned below the knees and it took about 45 minutes for crews to get the 3000 pounds of parts off the man.

“We secured the parts, stabilized the scene, and the used hydraulic equipment and we were able to lift up the parts and remove his legs,” said Christopher Vanloo, of the Saginaw Fire Department.

No one would identify the man or state the extent of the man’s injuries.

TV5 has learned that the man’s condition is not life-threatening.
