A 25-year-old Mount Pleasant man is in jail after a routine traffic stop led to his arrest on drug charges.

Police said the man was pulled over Saturday morning for having a defective exhaust system.

After finding one bag of marijuana in the man’s vehicle, a K9 unit was called to search the vehicle. The state police dog found additional marijuana, police said.

The driver is jailed on charges of driving while his license was suspended for the fourth time as well as marijuana possession.

He is currently lodged in the Isabella County Jail.
