Central Michigan University police arrested a 21-year-old man Tuesday evening while investigating a report of a suspicious person in Calkins Residence Hall.

CMU police Sgt. Jeffery Pickler said university officers investigating the complaint spotted the suspect getting into a car, which they stopped a short time later.

A search of the vehicle found suspected stolen items, including a wallet and laptop computer that had been taken from a room in Fabiano Residence Hall earlier in the day.

Jesse Young, of Warren, was arrested and arraigned on five charges including home invasion, receiving and concealing stolen property, and driving on a suspended license.

CMU police said it will continue to investigate the incident.

It is not known at this time if the case is connected to the theft of several other laptops from unlocked residence hall rooms in the past several days.
