Officials said the child was lying on a couch when the family member sleeping next to her rolled over on her.

Child protective services have taken three other children from the home, and the death remains under investigation.

The death remains under investigation.

According to the Saginaw News, the No. 1 cause of infant death for children under the age of 1 is accidental suffocation, either from a relative rolling over onto the baby or from being under a blanket.

Also reported by the Saginaw News, Heft’s great uncle, Robert G. Heft, is the Thomas Township man who designed the current United States flag.
