Classes Dismissed After Fire Contained

No One Was Injured In Bathroom Fire

Police and firefighters are investigating a small fire at a school in Essexville.

Administrators told TV5 that the fire started sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Tuesday in a bathroom at Hughes Elementary School.

Authorities said there were no injuries and no significant damage but students were evacuated and moved to Saint John School where they were picked up by parents.

A spokesperson said they expect to have classes at Hughes Elementary Wednesday.
