FLINT, Mich. -- General Motors vice president of North America Quality James Hresko will highlight the automaker's future innovations in a speech before the Flint Rotary Club Friday. He will also help Flint celebrate GM's centennial with a news conference in a national historic building described as virtually GM's birthplace. The Durant-Dort building was where GM founder William C. "Billy" Durant had an office when he was promoting Buick and then creating GM.By 1908, Durant had built Buick into a sales leader in the industry. On Sept. 16, 1908, Durant incorporated General Motors and soon brought Buick and Oldsmobile under its umbrella.Flint's other celebrations include the Flint GM 100 parade, featuring 230 GM vehicles covering virtually all of GM's 100-year history. The parade through downtown Flint is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Sunday. For more information visit www.flintgm100.com
