Bay City City Hall Needs New Roof

Roof's Price Tag Is $1.4M

Officials in Bay City said the 112-year-old roof over City Hall needs a makeover, with a price tag of $1.4 million.

So far the city has at least $800,000 set aside in its public improvement fund, but now they are unsure where to find the rest of the needed funds.

One idea is to take $600,000 from the general fund. Without the repairs, leaks in the roof will continue to cause problems for the historical building.

Commissioners voted earlier this week to delay any action until next month’s meeting.
