SAGINAW, Mich. -- Neighbors were left cleaning up a mess after a pack of dogs tore into each other in front of their eyes.It happened Monday morning at Waller and South Webster in Saginaw. Animal control responded to the Saginaw neighborhood and quickly captured three of the fighting dogs. The fourth dog was never found. One neighbor spoke with TV5 who said he saw someone provoking the dogs to fight.Witnesses said the four dogs viscously attacked one another until police arrived, where one officer had to use a Taser on a dog to get the fighting to stop.Blood spatter was evident on one driveway and garage door.Animal control is unsure if the dogs randomly attacked each other or if they were provoked by someone who enjoys watching the brutal violence of dogfighting.“It would be speculation for us to say anything about what might have occurred,” said Mark Wachner, of Animal Control. “We have our ideas with it, but again, it’s speculation.”Wachner went on to say dogfighting is not uncommon in Saginaw and said the sport is hard to crack down on.No humans were injured in the fighting, but the neighbors believe it’s a matter of time before someone is.“We have a little old lady who walks down to McDonalds,” said Mike Miller, a resident. “Those dogs would have killed her in a second.”Animal control said the three captured dogs will be held for a few days as strays and then be euthanized. They also recommend if anyone does witness dogs fighting, do not try to break it up – call them or 911 immediately.
