Police Arrest Teen In School Bomb Threat Plot

DAVISON, Mich. -- On Wednesday around 9:30 a.m., Davison Township Police officers and fire crews responded to a report of a bomb threat at Davison High School.The written threat implied an explosive device may be located within the next 48 hours and from the onset, investigators indicated the threat was not credible.Once the note was found and until authorities cleared the scene, Davison High School was put into "secure mode," and safety checks of the school grounds were conducted.A Michigan State Police K-9 unit was also on hand to search for explosives.By noon, officials had a suspect in custody and the ongoing investigation had indicated a 17-year-old Davison student was responsible for the threat.Police said there was never any explosive device or actual intent to use explosives.The Genesee County Prosecutor’s office is reviewing the case for possible criminal charges and the student is facing a review by Davison school officials.
