An 8-year-old girl from Owosso and a 68-year-old Burt resident were killed in a crash on Peet Road near East Road in Saginaw County's Maple Township.

Edith Brown, 61, of Clio, was driving a Chevrolet pickup that crossed the center line and struck a Pontiac head-on, Michigan State Police investigators said.

Brown was hospitalized at Covenant Medical Center. Brown's granddaughter, Lyvia Dickinson, 8, died after she was transported from the crash scene, investigators said.

The driver of the Pontiac, Milton Townsend, 68, was killed.

The crash remains under investigation. TV5 and WNEM.com has learned Edith Brown, Lyvia’s grandmother, is now out of the intensive care unit. So far no one has been charged in the crash.

Visitation for Lyvia is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by a funeral service Saturday at 1 p.m.

Nilblack Funeral Home on E. Grand River in Fowlerville is handling all visitations and the service.
