A 48-year-old Coleman man is in critical condition after crashing his pickup truck early Monday morning.

Isabella County sheriff deputies said Steven Eugene Hubble was not wearing his seat belt when he rolled his 1994 Ford pickup truck on East Herrick Road, just east of North Chippewa Road in Wise Township around 1:30 a.m.

Hubble was ejected from the vehicle and was transported by Life Net Helicopter to St. Mary’s in Saginaw for serious head and skull trauma.

Police said Hubble crossed the center line while traveling westbound on East Herrick Road, drove into a ditch and struck a culvert, causing the vehicle to go airborne.

When police arrived at the scene, Hubble was found in a nearby driveway next to his fully engulfed vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
