Authorities are investigating the death of an elderly woman with dementia who had been reported missing from a Lapeer County assisted-living home.

Rosemary Gubert, 84, was found in a ditch early Tuesday across the road from Green Valley Manor on Pratt Road in Hadley Township.

Investigators don't suspect foul play but cold temperatures might have contributed to her death.

The Detroit Free Press reported state regulators have cited Green Valley Manor for inadequate maintenance.

An autopsy is scheduled Wednesday to determine Gubert’s cause of death.
