LaMarr Woodly, linebacker for the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, and Clifton Ryan, defensive tackle for the St. Louis Rams, reunite again to give back to their hometown community by offering the children of Saginaw a opportunity to learn about football from NFL players.

The free camp will be held Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Saginaw High School.

The camp provides youth ages 8 to 15 years old the opportunity to work on their football skills, sportsmanship and teamwork skills while building self-esteem both on and off the field.

Each participant will receive a T-shirt and lunch, as well as have the opportunity to meet with Woodly, Ryan and other NFL celebrities.

“I’ll continue to support my hometown no matter where my NFL career takes me,” said Woodley. “I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for all of the community members who have helped me along the way. Recently I have felt the support so much from Saginaw, so this is my way of giving back.”

Camp registration begins Monday, April 20, and is currently registering the first 300 children ages 8 to 15 years old.

Parents can find the registration form and waiver online at www.lamarrwoodley56.com or at Coach Donald Durrett’s office at Saginaw High.

Please return all forms to Coach Durrett by May 29. Camp is limited to the first 300 children.

LaMarr Woodley became the first player in NFL history to record three consecutive multi-sack playoff games, dating back to the Steelers' 31-29 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card Round of the 2008 playoffs.

In Super Bowl XLIII, Woodley extended this streak to four games when he sacked Kurt Warner twice, forcing the game-ending fumble on Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner with 5 seconds remaining in the game to secure the win.

Clifton Ryan, the former Michigan State Spartan, was a pass rushing tackle-end hybrid in college but will convert to nose guard in the pros.

Ryan’s senior year he notched 25 tackles and four sacks while starting all 12 games for the Spartans at defensive tackle.
