A former Lake Fenton Community School board member appeared in a Genesee County courtroom Wednesday for sentencing on a drunken driving charge.

Tammy Harbin was sentenced on charges stemming from a March of 2008 crash on Fenton Road.

Police said Harbin was intoxicated, had THC in her system and was texting on her cell phone when she crossed the center line and crashed into another car.

The victim, Lori Delong, was traveling home from work.

The crash caused her car to catch fire, but she was able to walk away and no one was killed.

Harbin was sentenced to 93 days in jail and 12 months of probation.

While in court Wednesday, Harbin expressed sorrow to the crash victim. “I am sincerely apologetic, what my actions caused them," she said.

Harbin will also serve 10 days doing work detail with the Genesee County Sheriff’s department.

She will also pay more than $1,800 to the victim for possessions lost in the car fire.
