Tawas Police Searching For Missing Woman

Elderly Woman Suffering From Dementia May Have Wondered Away From Home

EAST TAWAS, Mich. -- Tawas police are asking for the public’s help as they search for an 81-year-old woman.

Emma Rush Nichols has been missing since Monday.

Authorities said a note was found inside her home, saying she was going for a walk at the dock in Tawas City.

Police said Nichols suffers from dementia.

Deputies think she may be wandering the area on foot.

Nichols is 5 feet and weighs 160 pounds.
