BAY COUNTY, Mich. -- A suspected hit-and-run driver was killed Friday when his car collided with another vehicle during a police chase in Kawkawlin Township.

Reports indicate 30-year-old Ryan Koebke of Bay City was involved in a hit-and-run crash at State Park near Wheeler around 6:30 p.m.

Bay County Sheriff’s deputies said witnesses reported him driving erratically after fleeing the scene of the crash.

While deputies were in pursuit, Koebke’s vehicle then collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle on East Beaver.

The driver of that vehicle suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
