MIDLAND, Mich. -- Budget woes are forcing cuts for Midland Public Schools.At least 54 full-time positions are now on the chopping block following Monday night’s vote.The move will also shuffle some administrative staff, making several positions part-time.Staff will also be cut from Reading Recovery and accelerated courses.Extracurricular programs took a hit at both Midland and Dow high schools.The district plans to cut five freshman sports, including boys and girls basketball, soccer and baseball.
