Bay City Police and Michigan State troopers were involved in a dramatic crash that stopped traffic and sent a parolee back to prison just one month after he’d been released.

Investigators said it started when the man allegedly stole a black pickup truck from the Iosco County town of Hale.

He was then spotted in Bay City, sparking a high speed chase that officers said they were forced to end by ramming into his vehicle.

The incident ended at Euclid Avenue and Union Street around 1 p.m. when police cornered the truck.

One witness told TV5 the truck was traveling at speeds in excess of 75 mph on Euclid.

Police said during the chase the parolee sideswiped five cars but no one was injured for the duration of the chase.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the parolee.
