GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Fire investigators said a fast-moving fire that badly damaged a Grand Blanc Township home was accidentally started by a sparkler.The fire began in an attached garage at a house located in the 1300 block of Rollins Street about 8 p.m. Tuesday.Fire officials said a child thought the sparkler was out when he tossed it into a garage trash can.The fire quickly spread to the house and caused about $100,000 of damage.A neighboring home sustained minor damages as well.Fire officials said no one was injured.With Independence Day on the horizon, this is a boom time for consumer fireworks sales.Take a look at our interactive section dedicated to firework history, trivia and safety tips.
