MIDLAND, Mich. -- Two people were killed in an apartment fire Wednesday morning in Midland.The fire broke out shortly before 1 a.m. at Robin Oaks Apartments on Eastlawn Drive.Fire officials said a 49-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man were transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead.The blaze was contained to a single unit.TV5 spoke with a teenager who woke up to the sound of smoke detectors and rushed to alert the neighbor’s in the burning unit.Investigators believe the fire started with a cigarette that ignited a couch in the living room.
