FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- At the end of July, 110 Allied Systems truckers will be laid off when General Motors closes its medium-duty truck line at Flint Truck Assembly.Allied moves new vehicles from plants to dealerships.Allied employees that move newly constructed pickup trucks will still have a job in at the Flint office.The workers will be given the chance to transfer to other locations in Michigan and another 89 hubs nationwide.Laid-off employees will not receive a severance, but will retain recall rights under contract. Sixty workers will remain at the site.Roughly 400 people will lose their jobs when GM closes the Flint Truck plant on July 30.
