Wednesday evening, Grand Blanc city leaders met to discuss the upcoming Buick Open golf tournament.

Many have wondered if General Motors' problems will force this year’s Buick Open to change locations.

The City Council answered that the event would remain at Warwick Hills.

The council also said it would do everything in its power to keep the Open in Grand Blanc for years to come.

This year’s Buick is scheduled to start Monday, July 27.

Recently crowned U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover has committed to the event.

It is unknown if Tiger Woods will make an appearance but golf-fan favorite John Daly will be participating in the three-day event.

Defending Buick Open champion Kenny Perry, as well as past winners Jim Furyk, Tom Pernice Jr., Justin Leonard, Brad Faxon and Scott Verplank are all expected this year.
