BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Police have arrested a man carrying more than seven weapons outside a Saginaw-area juvenile detention center after they said he fired several shots at the windows of parked vehicles.Police told TV5 that “several vehicles were shot up with several rounds” outside of the facility about 10:30 a.m. Friday. The 44-year-old man from Genesee County's Mount Morris Township was a former worker at the Wolverine Secure Treatment Center. He was taken into custody Friday morning without incident.“All we know is that he was an ex-employee with several weapons on him,” Buena Vista Police Chief Brian D. Booker said. "So far we’re just trying to piece together what happened."Authorities said the man was a former employee at the center and resigned under mutual terms with the company three months ago.Booker also told TV5 that police response to the shooting incident went "perfectly" and that officers were at the scene within minutes of the initial call.No injuries were reported. More than four separate law enforcement departments responded to a 911 call from the facility.Police did search the parking lot and facility grounds for a second shooter, but none was found.“We learned a lot from Columbine,” said Booker. “We try to engage [the individual].”Booker also said the investigation is ongoing.Stay tuned to TV5 and WNEM.com as more information becomes available. To watch WNEM.com's uncut video of police searching for a second gunman, click here.
