ISABELLA COUNTY, Mich. -- A Shepherd man has been arrested on charges of giving alcohol to underage girls, and then having sex with a 15-year-old multiple times.

Nicholas Maul, 28, was arraigned Tuesday afternoon.

He was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of furnishing alcohol to a minor.

State troopers said the incidents happened in both Isabella and Midland counties.

Maul is lodged at the Isabella County Jail on $20,000 bond, with additional charges pending in Midland County as some of the alcohol was purchased there.

Authorities said the girl’s mother was the person who alerted police to the situation.
