CLARE COUNTY, Mich. -- A Harrison man was arrested after Clare County sheriff’s deputies investigated a sexual assault claim against him.

Michael Allen Mercer, 31, was arrested on charges of first- and-second-degree sexual conduct, child accosting for immoral purposes and gross indecency between males.

Police said they received a call reporting the alleged rape of an 11-year-old Harrison boy in July and after conducting their investigation, warrants were issued for Mercer by the Clare County prosecutor.

Mercer was being held in the Clare County Jail on $75,000 bond.

No arraignment date has yet been set.
