Are you feeling lucky?

Lottery players have a chance to win $252 million in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, since there were no winners on Friday.

Tonight’s jackpot is an estimated $252 million, which means if one ticket matches all six numbers, the winner can choose between payments of $9.7 million a year for 26 years or a lump sum payment of about $159.2 million.

According to the Michigan Lottery Office, that kind of money could send 3,633 in-coming freshmen to a 4-year college education at Michigan State University; buy 13,077 2010 Ford Fusions; send 147,000 people on a six-day cruise on Lake Michigan; or buy 39.9 million pounds of Mackinac Fudge.

The last Mega Millions jackpot, worth $133 million, was won on July 7, 2009 by a lucky New York player.

Chris Crane, who won $42 million on October 3, 2008, was the last jackpot winner from Michigan.

Jackpot winners may choose to take their winnings in either a discounted lump sum or 26-year annuity.

Here is a breakdown of the jackpot earnings:

  • Current Jackpot Amount: $252,000,000.00
  • Cash Value: $159,200,000.00

The odds of winning the top prize with a single ticket are more than 175 million to 1.

The jackpot is still a few rollovers away from its record of $390 million.
