Police Say Ex-Boyfriend Purposely Crashed Into Car

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Mount Pleasant police said a 23-year-old driver intentionally rammed the vehicle his ex-girlfriend was riding in after an argument Wednesday evening.Casey Amos Floyd allegedly crashed his vehicle into another vehicle being driven by an 18-year-old Mount Pleasant woman near the intersection of Adams and Broadway streets just after 6 p.m.Police said three passengers, including Floyd's ex-girlfriend, were in the woman’s vehicle at the time of the crash.According to a police report, a heated argument occurred between Floyd and a female, who had a prior dating relationship.The female involved in the argument left the residence in a vehicle driven by a female friend. Police said the vehicle was traveling south on Adams Street when the former boyfriend began pursuing them in his vehicle at a high rate of speed.When the victim’s vehicle slowed down to stop for the stop sign at Adams Street, Floyd intentionally crashed into the rear of the vehicle, according to police.The vehicle was pushed through the intersection, onto a sidewalk and eventually struck a parked car and a utility pole.The victim and three occupants of the vehicle were hospitalized. Their conditions are unknown at this time.Mount Pleasant police arrested Floyd and are reviewing the police report to determine the appropriate criminal charges.The incident remains under investigation.
