STANDISH, Mich. -- This month's scheduled shutdown of Standish Maximum Correctional Facility is keeping supporters and opponents of housing detainees from Guantanamo at the prison busy.Officials in Au Gres and Arenac counties passed resolutions supporting the transfer of the inmates to Standish, citing the economic impact.Opponents of the transfer will hold a forum near Detroit on Monday night in hopes of reminding the public that moving the detainees into Standish would bring the area unwelcome prominence.
