The Mid-Michigan Area Group Narcotics team reported the seizure of a sizable amount of Ecstasy tablets and a small amount of cocaine.

Detectives said they received a tip that suspects from the Detroit area were trafficking illegal substances in the Perry and Owosso areas.

When a vehicle fitting the description was found Monday, state troopers stopped it and a search was carried out.

Officers said they found 1,000 Ecstasy tablets and roughly one-and-a-half ounces of cocaine.

Authorities believe the drugs carried a street value in excess of $10,000.

The duo was arrested and face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

They are currently lodged at the Shiawassee County Jail pending prosecutorial review.

Authorities did not release the names of those arrested.

The narcotics team asks that any citizens with information regarding illegal drugs call 989-725-7254.
