SANDUSKY, Mich. -- Authorities said they made a $10 million multi-national drug bust at a small airport in Sandusky.Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office said that a U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter late Friday spotted a small plane drop seven or eight large bags on the runway about 75 miles north of Detroit.Authorities said the plane picked up one bag and took off.Two people were trying to load the bags into a gray-SVU type vehicle when they spotted the helicopter and fled.They were later arrested, identified as Canadian citizens and were being held in the Sanilac County Jail.The sheriff's department said authorities found more than 300 pounds of Ecstasy and more than 100 pounds of marijuana."It is a remarkable amount of narcotics that were seized," Sanilac County Sheriff Gary Biniecki said. "It was very impressive how the multiple law enforcement agencies responded and worked together to get the job done."
