SAGINAW, Mich. -- The Saginaw School District Board of Education selected three finalists to interview for the district's superintendent position on Monday.During the special Board of Education meeting, Steve Price, Carlton D. Jenkins and Frederick C. Clarke were notified they’d be called back for a second interview.Those selected for additional interviews, along with their current position, areMr. Frederick C. Clarke
Clarke is in his third year as Superintendent of the Albion Public Schools. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, his Masters' degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston and is currently enrolled in the doctoral program in Educational Leadership at Western Michigan University.Dr. Carlton D. Jenkins
Dr. Jenkins is in his fourth year as Executive Director of Secondary and Charter Schools for the Beloit Public Schools in Wisconsin. Dr. Jenkins received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi Valley State University, his Masters' degree in Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and his PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy also from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.Dr. Steve Price
Dr. Price was Superintendent of the Middletown Public Schools in Ohio for seven years, until June 30, 2009. He is currently a consultant with the Pacific Educational Group. He received his undergraduate degree from Miami University (OH), his Masters' degree in Educational Administration and his EdD in Educational Administration/Curriculum are also from Miami University.Board members said they will schedule additional interviews and community meetings the week of Jan. 11, 2010.
