SANILAC COUNTY, Mich. -- Michigan State Police credit a watchful neighbor with stopping a home burglary in Freemont Township Tuesday night.Troopers from the Sandusky post said they arrested a 31-year-old Rochester Hills man when a neighbor contacted the homeowner and police after he noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway.The homeowner returned to find the family’s dog outside and the burglary suspect still rummaging through the home.Troopers and Croswell police arrested the man while he was in the bathroom raiding the medicine cabinet.Police said the burglar swallowed several prescription pills and was found with cash belonging to the homeowner. He was taken to McKenzie Hospital for treatment prior to being lodged at the Sanilac County Jail.Police said the would-be robber is not cooperating in the investigation and his ties to Sanilac County remain unknown.He’s being held on a $10,000 bond pending arraignment on several felony charges.
