Officials told WNEM TV5 the Highlands Senior Manufacturing Housing Community has had a water main break.

A boil-water advisory has been issued for residents in the community and surrounding areas on E. Mount Morris Road.

Authorities are in the process of making the necessary repairs.

They do not know how long repairs will take.

The advisory will remain in effect until test samples show the water is safe to drink.

Testing can take 24 hours to complete.

Customers in the area are urged to either bring water to a boil for one full minute or purchase bottled water.
