Midland police are warning residents about a cell phone scam.

Police said several residents have received phone calls where an automated voice tells them their credit card has been suspended or compromised.

It then asks for account details and other personal information, such as date of birth and Social Security numbers.

Police said if you receive one of these phone calls, hang up and contact your financial institutions immediately.
