Lions Re-Sign DE Corey Smith

(Sports Network) - The Detroit Lions re-signed defensive end Corey Smith to a one-year deal Monday.

Smith will return for his third year in the Motor City after originally joining the Lions midway through the 2006 season.

In 2007, the North Carolina State product played in all 16 games and set career highs with 32 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and 20 special teams tackles.
