Five Players Re-Up With Blackhawks

POSTED: 6:27 pm EDT July 6, 2009

(Sports Network) - Chicago agreed to terms with five players on Monday.

The Blackhawks signed right wing Troy Brouwer and goaltender Corey Crawford to two-year contracts, and a trio of players, including left wing Ben Eager, center Colin Fraser and defenseman Aaron Johnson to one-year deals.

"I am happy to have these five players back with us," said club general manager Dale Tallon. "They are quality individuals who played an important role with us last season and their talents are a big part of our goals for next season."

Brouwer appeared in 69 games last season and ranked second among Blackhawks rookies in goals (10), assists (16) and points (26).

Crawford, who spent the majority of the 2008-09 campaign with the club's American Hockey League affiliate in Rockford, is slated to backup Cristobal Huet.

Eager registered career-highs in goals (11), points (15) and games played (74), while Fraser racked up six goals and 17 points in 81 games.

Johnson compiled three goals and five assists in 38 games.
