Free Wireless Internet Debuts At St. Mary's
Patients and visitors at St. Mary’s of Michigan downtown medical center now have free wireless Internet access available for their convenience.The complimentary service, which began this week, means people can surf the Internet or check their email while they are visiting or being treated at St. Mary’s of Michigan.“This is another example of how technology can enhance the care experience for both family and patient,” said Chief Information Officer David Wanner. “St. Mary’s of Michigan has always been a technological leader and we’re glad to offer this service which is a great way for patients to remain connected with family and friends while they are being treated at our Medical Center.”To connect with the St. Mary’s of Michigan Wi-Fi Guest Network, patients and visitors must furnish their own laptop computer.After booting up the computer and finding the wireless network, they just have to follow simple instructions to gain Internet access.
The free wireless technology will also make it easy for visitors and patients to connect with another new service, CarePages.CarePages helps patients and families communicate by sharing patient health updates, photos and supportive messages via a private website.The service is available free to any family needing care and support at St. Mary’s of Michigan
