A generous donation of $12,000 from the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Michigan State Aerie has enabled St. Mary’s of Michigan to purchase two portable cardiac monitors which will be used for acute care patients. The monitors provide cardiac rhythm displays, heart rate, and oxygen levels during dialysis treatments in the Hemodialysis Unit. The donation, made to the St. Mary’s of Michigan Foundation, was offered by Eagles Michigan State Vice President Bob Majewski and Eagles Auxiliary Trustee Sally Majewski, Bob’s wife. “I was born at St. Mary’s,” says Bob. “I’ve been here a number of times for health related issues and this institution is very close to my heart.”
The two cardiac monitors were badly needed, says Judy Johnson, Vice President of Patient Care Services. “I’m very pleased. We have just recently renovated space so that we could create a unit where inpatients could have dialysis, so we needed those cardiac monitors to support that.”
