A multi-million dollar renovation project has resulted in a brand new state-of-the-science Angiography Suite at St. Mary’s of Michigan. The renovation means that St Mary’s of Michigan is better able to accommodate stroke patients even during times when scheduled procedures are already in progress. The suite, one of two Special Procedure Biplane Angiography rooms, now has new 3D technology, highlighted by a Siemens biplane imaging system which consists of two large flat panel detectors. The flat detector biplane technology delivers exceptional detail resolution to support both diagnostic and interventional decision making. It also means better treatment decisions and a significantly decreased amount of time between diagnostic and treatment procedures, allowing for rapid intervention in conditions such as stroke, says Kevin Flynn, Manager of Interventional Radiology.
“This will help our physicians and patients by providing outstanding visualizations and imaging with 3D capabilities and CT-like images,” said Flynn.
