TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - The Tucson doctors and nurses who cared for Congresswoman Giffords at University Medical Center are now heading to Washington, D.C., this week.

The medical team will be attending President Obama's State Of The Union address on Tuesday.

C.J. Karamargin, Giffords' Communication Director, says doctors Peter Rhee, Michael Lemole and Randall Friese, along with nurse Tracy Culbert, and Giffords' intern University of Arizona student Daniel Hernandez plan to attend the national address.

Karamargin says Giffords' husband Mark Kelly was also invited, but he declined the invitation because he does not want to leave his wife's side at this point.
