Judge Upholds Local ManÂ?s '05 Murder Conviction 6-07-2010

A Midland County judge has decided a local man convicted of second-degree murder in 2005 will not be granted a second trial.
The judge ruled that James Altman, 46, did not have enough cause to overturn the jury’s verdict.
Altman was convicted of killing Christina Fisher in 2004. She suffered fatal injuries when she jumped from his vehicle on Hicks Road.
Altman’s attorney said the jury was misled on several pieces of evidence during the trial.
The conviction had already been upheld by the Michigan Court of Appeals.
