Trio Arrested In Shiawassee County Meth Bust 6-07-2010

Three people have been arrested in connection to a methamphetamine operation at an Owosso Township home.
The Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Department said 41-year-old Terry Lee Hofstetter, of Owosso, and 36-year-old Christian Lee Bunting, also of Owosso, have been charged with delivery and manufacturing methamphetamine.
They are currently in custody at the Shiawassee County Jail on $250,000 cash bond.
A third person, a 19-year-old Morrice woman, has not yet been charged.
Sgt. Jason Jenkins told WNEM TV 5 the investigation began when deputies conducted a traffic stop Sunday afternoon on Morrice Road in Bennington Township.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license. Jenkins said deputies also suspected illegal narcotics use and called in the Perry Police Department K-9 unit to assist in the search.
Deputies said they uncovered methamphetamine, marijuana, narcotics and a large sum of cash in the vehicle.
Further investigation led deputies to a home on south Delaney Road in Owosso Township.
Jenkins said a search in the home resulted in a “large scale” methamphetamine operation that included components for manufacturing and distributing the drug.
The home was evacuated for a short time while hazardous materials were removed.
Michigan State Police and the Shiawassee County Health Department assisted deputies.
