Bay Co. High Schools Grad Rate Above Average 6-07-2010

Students and parents in the Bay County school district have an extra reason to be joyful this graduation season.
The Michigan Department of Education said Bay County high schools are beating state and national graduation averages.
Newly released figures found Bay City Central High School's graduation rate for 2009 was more than 79 percent, and Western High School graduated 94 percent of its students.
The state and national averages stand at about 75 percent.
School officials told WNEM.com that intervention programs that give struggling students more one-on-one time are helping to keep kids on the right track.
