Update: Man Says Police Recovered Stolen Van 6-08-2010

An update to this story: Saginaw Township police located the stolen van near North Harrison and Throop mid-morning Tuesday. No other details were released.

Saginaw Township police said a number of vehicles were stolen over the past weekend, including a 1999 white Plymouth Voyager minivan.
That owner, Lee-Perry Belleau, is asking the community and his network of friends and family to help find the ransacked ride.
"Sometime after 2 a.m. this past Sunday our minivan was stolen from our driveway," he wrote in an e-mail. "Here’s my request: 'please watch, wherever you go in the greater Saginaw area, for the van.'"
Belleau said he filed the correct paperwork with Saginaw Township police, but hopes the eyes and ears of the neighborhood will track down the stolen van quicker.
"It could be in a parking lot, on a side street or in an apartment complex,” he said. “It is our hope to get the van back and catch the thieves.”
The van has a few noticeable features, including a trailer hitch, black car top carrier and dents in the back hatch and driver’s side front fender. The Voyager’s license plate is BLZ 0548.
If you come across a vehicle matching this description, you’re urged to contact police.
Other vehicle larcenies over the weekend were reported at two homes on Kingston and at the Fox Glen Apartments near Weiss.
Police want to remind residents to lock their vehicles at all times.
